For Maverick Cares and its community partners, it is always a season of giving, sharing and gratitude.
Since 2019, we have worked together year-round to supply thousands of meals, Back-to-School supplies and access to local experiences for students and families. Maverick Cares is an employee-led project of the team at Maverick Gaming – named for CEO Eric Persson’s son, Maverick. Maverick Gaming is a neighborhood gathering place in communities across Washington.
This holiday season, Maverick Cares and its community partners distributed vouchers for Thanksgiving meals to thousands of families as well as additional offerings from other local businesses and organizations who stepped up to support their neighbors. On December 22, Maverick Cares distributed 4,000 holiday meal kits to families in need, accompanied with gift cards to local businesses.
“Even during the ongoing pandemic, the end of a year should be a time for reflection and celebration,” said Maverick CEO and co-founder Eric Persson. “That’s why our team is working hard to make the holidays a little easier for families in need across local communities in our state. I thank all of our partners for helping with not just this event, but every effort that we have been proud to host in 2021.”
Maverick Cares is built on the contributions of local partners, many of whom donate items and volunteer time during the event.
Founded in late 2019, Maverick Cares is a member-led ‘good neighbor’ program of Maverick Gaming active in communities where we live and work. Maverick Cares is made possible by partnerships with local community leaders and organizations and is focused on supporting people in need, a community effort made even more critical during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
